B&R Presents at Sustainable Solutions Symposium on Combined Heat and Power (CHP) at Horseshoe Casino

B&R Vice President of Energy Services, Gabriel Velicu, PE, LEED AP, presented at the 1000 Friends of Maryland Sustainable Solutions Symposium on October 29, 2014, an event sponsored by and held at Morgan State University.

The symposium featured thought-provoking presentations and lively discussions about sustainability best practices that are transforming Baltimore and other cities throughout the world. Gabe presented alongside Brittany Eldredge, Managing Director of Lorax Partnerships, and Tom Hewitt, PE, Senior Consultant to Colbert Matz Rosenfelt on the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore for a presentation titled “Gambling on Sustainability.”

The presentation highlighted B&R’s work as the energy efficiency consultant for Horseshoe, which included the analysis, selection and implementation of a 1.2 MWatt Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility that secured $1,800,000 in energy incentives for the project.
